Replace Weber Spirit flavorizer bars

When Spirit bars are lace, drips hit the burners. How to match E-210 versus E-310 length, seat the peaks over the tubes, and stop cleaning ports every month.

Weber Flavorizer bars are inverted-V pieces over the burners. They catch drips and keep liquid off the ports. When they rust into lace, every steak bastes the burner. People then buy new tubes. The tubes were the victim. Ordering 310 bars for a 210 (or the reverse) is how this job goes wrong.

When they are done

Measure, do not guess

  1. Grill cold. Lift the cooking grates. Count bars: two on E-210, three on E-310. Count is not enough — a 310 bar is longer.
  2. Measure length end-to-end and the width of one V. Write the numbers next to the model from the data plate.
  3. Search Amazon or BBQGuys for Weber Spirit E-210 flavorizer or E-310 flavorizer. Compare listed length to your tape. Older Spirit and Spirit II kits can differ. We do not print an ASIN or a price.

Forum numbers (7635 / 7636) are clues for an official diagram, not a guarantee for your serial. Wrong-length bars that “almost” sit will walk.

Swap

  1. Tank off if you will be leaning into the box. Gloves — rusted edges cut.
  2. Lift old bars straight up. If seized in the notches, work them; do not pry the firebox flange.
  3. Scrape the notches so the new bars sit level.
  4. Set new bars with the peak centered over each burner tube. A gap you can see from above is a drip path.
  5. Refit grates. Confirm the bars did not shift. Preheat and look: bars take the flare, not the tube.
