A built-in Lynx, Alfresco, Wolf, or DCS on natural gas does not have a QCC1 handwheel. Weak burners after a remodel are often a shutoff, a regulator set wrong, or a fitting that was never soaped. This is a leak-check, not a cart regulator reset.
Safety
- Outdoors. No smoking. No lighter at a fitting.
- If you smell gas, shut the supply (house NG cock or LP tank) and stop. Call the utility or a licensed tech. Do not keep hunting with the valve open.
- 120 V is live in the same island. Kill the GFCI before you crawl the cabinet.
Soap-and-water check
- All burner knobs OFF, including IR sear, rotisserie, and side burners.
- Open the supply slowly.
- Wet every joint you can reach: appliance stub, flex connector, regulator (LP), manifold unions, valve inlets.
- Watch 60 seconds. Growing bubbles are a leak. Shut the supply. Do not light.
- A joint that was recently taken apart (orifice change, NG↔LP conversion) is the first place to look. Conversion kits are model-specific; we do not invent them.
Leak-down (if you have a manometer)
- Shut all appliance valves. Connect the manometer to the test port or a plugged tee per the grill’s installation sheet.
- Pressurize only to the pressure the manufacturer specifies for a standing test — not house-line test pressure into the grill valves.
- Shut the source. Watch the gauge. A drop means a leak downstream. Find it with soap, not with a bigger number.
- If the installation sheet wants a licensed installer for the leak-down, stop here and hire one. Island gas is not a cart hose.
What this will not fix
- One burner dead: orifice, U-burner, or IR element. See clean ports only for open tube ports — not for sealed IR.
- All burners weak on LP after a tank swap: that is an excess-flow trip if the head has an LP hose. Use the LP reset.
- No ignition with a proven gas supply: transformer / hot-surface.
