Nexgrill 720-series carts hide a small AA igniter module in the control panel. Leads run to ceramics at the left burner and, if equipped, the side burner. The search key is the 720-xxxx stamp including suffix letters.

Diagnose before you buy
Lid open, knobs off, shade so you can see a snap.
- No click. Pull the round igniter cap. Two AAs, polarity stamped, springs green with corrosion. Replace cells. Brush springs dry — do not oil. Still silent: module open or button melted into the bezel.
- Click, no snap. Look up under the firebox. Leads fall off these collectors as a lifestyle. Push every spade on. Cracked ceramic → replace that electrode. Clip rail rusted out of the box → firebox problem, not an igniter problem.
- Snap, no light. Spark is working. Reset the regulator. Confirm the left tube is fully on its orifice. Dark section → ports.
- Side burner dead, mains fine. Separate short electrode and lead. Do not replace the main module first.
- Stick lights a strong flame, button does nothing. Stay in this procedure. Stick will not light. Leave the igniter aisle.
Safety
- Tank off before you pull leads near valves.
- Do not keep clicking into a box that smells like gas.
- If you hosed the cart, assume the module is wet. Dry a day before you condemn it.
Replace the electrode
- Photograph the 720 number. Tank off. Grates and tents out.
- Photograph the ceramic clip and the wire path. Gap about a nickel.
- Pull the lead at the module so you know the true wire length.
- Unclip the ceramic. If the rail is a rust flake, stop and make the box decision.
- Clip the new ceramic. Aim the tip. Do not overtighten.
- Push the spade fully onto the module post. Route away from the grease hole.
- Fresh AAs. Tank on slowly. Lid open. Watch for the snap, then left knob.
Replace the module
- Several ceramics new and the button still silent → module is the part.
- Search Amazon or BBQGuys for Nexgrill 720-xxxx igniter. Match the bezel and the number of outgoing posts (main plus side).
- A melted button usually means grease or a lid-dump of rain. Fix the drip path or you will buy this module twice.
Stop rule
- Two ignition SKUs plus a rusted rail is not a third SKU. See failed ignition.
- Module plus tents plus tubes on a 720 cart is often new-grill money. Look up current totals; we do not invent them.
